This console eats Steam Deck with The Last of Us at 60 FPS, 32 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 7, but you won’t eat for 1 month

Steam Deck did not invent anything, but it cannot be considered a bad console for that reason. Video game laptops have been around for years, but none with their own operating system had managed to stand up to the big ones in the media. Now, another one that seeks to follow in the wake of Steam Deck appears on the radar: it is called AOKZOE A1 PRO and that’s it it has gone too fast with the price.

Although this name does not tell us anything, its insides are not small feat. We are talking about an entirely Chinese development and assembly where the AOKZOE company seeks to reach the top with its A1 Pro, the first console it manufactures. In this case, those of the Asian giant once again trust AMD and build their console from a “Phoenix” APU Ryzen 7 7840U.

This processor with Zen4 architecture is accompanied by an integrated GPU under the name of Radeon 780Mof the generation RDNA3. In terms of size and features, it doesn’t shy away from Steam Deck either, with some 8 inchesa panel 1200p IPS LCD, 32 GB or 64 GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage attending to the different models, as collected by Videocardz.

Let’s see the power of the AOKZOE A1 PRO against the Steam Deck:

  • 64GB eMMC
  • 256GB NVMe
  • 512GB NVMe

Windows 11

SteamOS (Linux based)

Between $999 and $1,359 for the most expensive model

Between 419 euros and 679 euros for the most expensive model

As for games, the Chinese from AOKZEO have not cut a hair in showing on their YouTube channel how their console works with different games. From Hogwarts Legacy to Wild Hearts, the console looks like not be afraid of anyone and these are the numbers:

  • Hogwarts Legacy- Average 50 FPS (settings in Medium and FSR 2.0 in Quality)
  • GTA V – 60 stable FPS
  • Wild Hearts – Average 40FPS (settings to High)
  • Yakuza Like a Dragon – 60FPS
  • Spider-Man Miles Morales – Average 55FPS
  • Forza Horizon 5 – 60 stable FPS (settings to Very High)
  • The Last of Us Part 1 – 60FPS
  • Elden Ring- 60FPS (settings to Medium)

In the case of The Last of Us, the sample video shares the quality and they only run the beginning of the game, so it is not an entirely reliable test, not because of the console, but because of the state of the game.

As for specifications, perhaps AOKZEO A1 Pro seeks to compete, both in generation and in capacities, with the recently introduced ASUS ROG Ally, but not in terms of price. Faced with both, AOKZEO A1 Pro slips considerably by offering a price that starts with $999 (in euros it will be more expensive) before a community that, far from Nintendo, remains reluctant to even buy a laptop.

Everything you need to know about the ASUS ROG Ally: technical specifications, price, editions and release date

Be that as it may, the launch of this AOKZEO A1 Pro is imminent and will hit Indiegogo next April 30th. For its part, the ASUS ROG Ally is scheduled to make its official announcement (of price and benefits) on May 11 for imminent marketing.
