Get more FPS in Atomic Heart on PC with settings we’ve tested and recommend

We can now play Atomic Heart. Yes, it sounds crazy, but the truth is that the Mundfish game, after no less than 5 years since it was announced to society, was still unknown to many. Will we ever see it? Will it be as good as it seems? For the latter, we have to resort to the analysis of Alberto Pastor in 3DJuegos, who has come out happy from this crazy Russia; but for those wondering “how will the game work on PC”, here we go with a Optimization Guide of Atomic Heart on this platform.

First of all, we want to make one thing clear, and that is that the game is a visual marvel, but also rock solid. The Russian development game is pretty well optimized departure and, except in the most tense moments, with heavy load on GPU, it’s hard to see it below 60 FPS with DLSS enabled. Even so, today we want to bring you those adjustments that will make you gain some frames and from which you should avoid.

But first, we are going to see some key points of the game and optimization that you should take into account:

  • It runs with Unreal Engine 4but it is surprisingly better optimized than other titles with the Epic Games engine.
  • It has FSR 2 and DLSS 3.0. In fact, it is one of the first newly released games to have the new technology from NVIDIA.
  • At first, it will execute a single cache load and the will optimizeso do not worry if in the menu, during the first minutes, the FPS are on the ground, it has also happened to us
  • If you don’t limit the FPS with a cap, it will consume a lot of GPUwe have rarely come down from 98% use on an RTX 3060 Ti.
  • It does not count with Ray Tracingalthough it was said yes.
  • I recommend your installation on an SSDbut a HDD has had no problem moving it.
  • It has a bug that doesn’t let us get past the start, but it can be fixed quickly and easily.

Requirements updated as of February 9, 2023

In this case, we have used a system with a RTX 3060Tia i5 12400 and 32GB of RAM at a speed of 3200 MHz. The output resolution was 1440p on a Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor and NVIDIA Game Ready 528.49 graphics drivers, which you can download from the link or from GeForce Experience.

Recommended settings for Atomic Heart on PC

We have used the PC version Game Pass for performance analysis. Although there shouldn’t be any difference with the Steam version, it’s not the first time that we’ve come across small differences in the builds, that’s why we emphasize that this is the Atomic Heart version 1.0.1.0.

Vertical Sync It’s always an issue to discuss, but unless you have major tears, I wouldn’t activate it. Even if you have them, limiting the FPS to a maximum of 60 is usually a better option. (**) We have run the game on a 240hz Samsung Odyssey G7, but have had great results capping the game at 60 or 90 FPS. Not only does the GPU load drop considerably below 80%, but the frame rateis

Image of Atomic Heart (Mundfish) Recommendations (quality) Here we go to the important thing and, again, we rescue how well the game works. In this case, we are not afraid to make the game work by “punching” the graphic options, because they are very responsive. Even so, and since Atomic Heart is a visually overwhelming experience, we wanted to strike a balance between quality and gameplay experience, one that we demands to play to

or more.

The game runs with DLSS 3.1.1.0

on all computers. However, if you do not have an RTX 40, you will be able to continue enjoying the game, but this option will not have any effect since it is exclusive to the new generation of NVIDIA.

(**) The

shades they consume a lot, and reducing the range will not improve the FPS much, but it will stabilize them. If we set it to High, we will suffer fewer drops, especially in large areas of the map. (***) We have not noticed much difference between the 2 options. It is an option that we do not know what it responds to, but always place it in the option of the hard drive where you have installed it.

Atomic Heart does not have performance problems on PC, but our version is not without criticismBut,and ray tracing? Good question (in case you have asked yourself) and it is not there. There are no options for it in the game, although Mundfish has already announced that it would be the only version that would receive it. As of today, and with version 1.0.1.0 of the game, this technology is missing until further notice.
