the problematic game announces its goodbye with 2 important dates

The beginning of the end for Marvel’s Avengers has already been marked on the calendar, and it won’t be long in coming. The Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal game under the Square Enix umbrella did not have the best start in the world, even less for a license as important as Marvel’s “The Avengers”. Barely 3 years later of its premiere, Marvel’s Avengers has fixed his death with up to 2 dates.

It has been Square Enix itself that has decided to communicate what happened. Apart from the thanks to the community and the confirmation of the solo game after the end of its online life, the Japanese company has marked its goodbye in 2 non-consecutive days:

  • From March 31, 2023the game will not receive any more online content or features.
  • The September 30thMarvel’s Avengers tap will be cut off and will close the support of the game.

The first step mentioned above will come with the Update 2.8which will include one last batch of improvements, but no additional content. Thus, the Winter Soldier Hero and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat pack that arrived with Update 2.7 prior to the end of 2022 will be the last content in the game.

Of course, they will not close the blind and leave without making a few latest “improvements” to the game. Square Enix has confirmed that the Marketthe place where we could buy new skins and cosmetic elements (harshly criticized, by the way), will deactivate and we will not be able to spend the credits on it. These coins will be converted into experience, upgrade modules and other items, as well as all the marketplace it will become free as a show of affection for the community.

The end of the game has been haunting the minds of players and those who love speculation for years. Although the game has long since stopped receiving important contentwith that “War for Wakanda” of 2021his online store was religiously updated with new skins, packages and other cosmetics.

EA announces a new Iron Man game that brings back the flying mechs, but not the ones from Anthem

The goodbye to Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal last 2022 put in check a Square Enix little interested in continuing to sponsor Western studies, although it was made clear that the alliance with Marvel would not end the game. This sale of their studios does not seem to be the trigger for goodbye to Marvel’s Avengers, since the game had not raised its head for a long time with a few hundred regular players on Steam.
