“It is a historic announcement. You don’t know what it took to get it”, said Gerard Piqué at the start of the broadcast. In direct, he has been accompanied as always by the presidents of the league clubs, including the streamer Ibai Llanos or the former soccer player Kun Agüero. In addition to discussing upcoming matches, these sessions are often used to announce news with a touch of mystery, through a countdown. It already happened with two players: Enigma69 (a first division soccer player who would compete in the league covered by a mask) and El Joker (who was finally Kun Agüero dressing short in the team he presides over).

After fantasizing that the mystery would be another new player, Joan Laporta has entered the set of the program, where he has chatted with the members of the league. “It is a different form of entertainment, I congratulate you because you are doing very well. People are very hooked, including many players from Barça’s first team”, highlighted the president before announcing the Barça stadium as the venue. The tickets for the final four They have gone on sale since 9 pm this Friday, with a price of between 10 and 60 euros.

The regular season of the King’s League consists of 12 teams that play 11 days and will end on Sunday, March 19. The first eight classified will advance to the quarterfinals, which will be played on Saturday, March 25. The four winners will play a four-way final in the Euroleague basketball style, which will be at a Camp Nou adapted to the dimensions of 7-a-side football.

The stands will maintain full capacity and all the seats will be open to the public. In addition, Piqué has promised performances in the intermission between games. Until now, all the matches had been played in a closed pavilion, the Cupra Arena, located next to the port of Barcelona.

1.3 million viewers was the peak audience for the King’s League when Kun Agüero revealed his identity as Joker last Sunday, before the match against Porcinos FC from Ibai Llanos.

After the first three days of the league, the Saiyans FC (the team of the Murcian streamer The Grefg, with more than 10 million followers on Twitch) lead the championship followed by 1K (the team chaired by Iker Casillas). Both add a full of victories in a championship that seeks to attract young people with crazy rules and a dynamic game.

The overjoyed presidents have even joked that Florentino Pérez would follow Laporta’s example and cede the Santiago Bernabéu for future editions of a league, which does not stop promising surprises.
