Betis and Osasuna played a great game, where both teams showed their virtues to capture an even clash, very cup-bearing and with alternatives. Betis, the current champions, had it in their hands after a goal from Carvalho in the second half, but a goal from David García in extra time led to extra time. The night of the cup, cold and exciting, led to extra time with two brave teams, who enjoyed chances and played without reservations. The same was marked by Betis after a play that Osasuna did, appealing to direct football and the culmination of Rubén García. Borja and Barja were the best footballers of both teams in the last minutes of a great game, which was settled in a penalty shootout after the final tie at two.

Osasuna was much better in the shootout and qualified for the quarterfinals by winning 4-2. Betis, as in the Super Cup semifinal against Barcelona, fell again in the final shootout with a last terrible shot from Guido, who slipped before hitting. The Andalusian team, who had won the match, delivered it on an error with a goal from David García in injury time. Loren had to clear and not protect the ball, which came to the Navarrese central defender at the far post, who entered like a bull to make it 1-1. Betis was not fine in defense in two decisive actions. Nor when after 2-1 in extra time, Sabaly, author of the goal, failed against Rubén García, who scored 2-2. And Osasuna is a team with a lot of faith. He also bravely earned his pass to the quarterfinals.
Osasuna is not where it is by chance. It is a very well worked team, which exerts suffocating pressure and is always very well placed. The virtues that tend to make teams that want to have the ball and have the initiative uncomfortable. As is the case with Betis. With an almost perfect approach, the Arrasate team paralyzed a Verdiblanco team that was too predictable, which missed Fekir a lot, injured. Therefore, Betis played an unsuccessful game of dominance against an Osasuna that blocked all paths. At the pace with which Betis played in the first half, it was impossible for the Andalusians to attack the Navarrese approach. Of course, Osasuna was unable to shoot at the goal defended by Bravo. Actually, the only shot between the posts of the first act came in the 44th minute, when Sergio Herrera cleared a Willian José free-kick without too much trouble.
Betis was activated in the second half with the entries of Borja and Aitor Ruibal. William Carvalho scored and the clash turned his face. The Cup, however, does not admit mistakes. Osasuna fought and steadfastly pursued the tie, until he succeeded. Betis did not have the forcefulness of other days. Everything was decided on penalties and Sergio Herrera was much better than Bravo, who ended a terrible week by not stopping a shot in the Super Cup semifinal round against Barcelona and now with Osasuna.
